Transformations in the world of work impose new challenges for the field of social sciences. In this sense, the fragmentation and heterogeneity that characterizes a part, increasingly important, of the current working class, must be analyzed from a perspective that considers gender as a central category to understand the different ways in which inequalities unfold. It also requires a critical review of the classifications and conceptualizations that until today seemed immutable around the definition of work itself. Therefore, it is necessary a feminist perspective that makes it possible to comprenhend how the different processes of social provisioning, visible and invisible, remunerated and unpaid, that are deployed and put into play in the world of work are articulated. Considering these challenges, this article tries to contribute on the investigate of the working world in the popular sectors and their transformations in the recent context whithin this perspective. Based on an investigation carried out during 2016 - 2017 in two neighborhoods of the Buenos Aires Conurbano (suburban area surrounding the Buenos Aires metropolitan area), I intend to reflect on the employment conditions of the women residing there. The results presented here, is the product of a fieldwork that combines quantitative and qualitative tools, that make it possible to visualize the ways in which the relations between gender and social class are articulated in the working experiences.
