Abstract

The purpose of this photographic essay is to show a part of the reality of women workers who work in supermarkets and convenience stores in the city of Tijuana, Baja California, Mexico. These images were taken with the consent of those involved, and are part of an ethnographic approach carried out during the second semester of the year 2020, which is linked to understanding the working conditions of women workers in the service sector in this city in the context of the pandemic. Inquiring about the socio-sanitary implications of this pandemic within the supermarkets and the effects of this state of contingency on labor relations encouraged this photographic series.
