Abstract

Many works refer to the process of native political organization generated in lathe of the mission of Nueva Pompeya during the early 70’. This article proposes to situate this case in a broader framework. The text seeks to analyse the dynamics of forming of an ecclesiastical indigenist network in the region of the Argentinian Chaco between the years 1965-1980. It suggests that, besides the case of Nueva Pompeya, other spaces of mission also articulated similar forms of native political organization. The article argues that the group of missions formed a wide social network, with diffuse limits, but with significant influence in the processes of native political organization at the Chaco region during the 1970s and 1980s.
