Abstract

In this work, we present the central biographical aspects of the Indian spiritual leader Sathya Sai Baba and then offer a history of his movement in Argentina. Thus, we narrate its origins linked to actors of the City of Buenos Aires to then account for the consolidation of the cult in the rest of the country. The article is inscribed in a series of works that analyze the processes of religious globalization, class culture and spirituality, as well as the reappropriations and resignifications between Eastern and Western knowledge. Finally, the article describes a series of recent events unleashed since the death of Sai Baba and outlines some interpretive keys for the future of these groups.
