Trajectories of informal work, gender and public space in Mexico City
Keywords:
informal work, career, gender and public spaceAbstract
This article reflects the work trajectories of people who carry out their activities in the informal sector, in the public space of Mexico City. The research focuses, from a gender perspective, on the identities, experiences and meanings constructed during the aging process (seen as a whole), and in the development of people's work trajectories. Conceptually, it takes a life course approach, mainly from the concepts of turning point and timing; while in the methodological strategy we opt for the use of in-depth qualitative interviews, using the life history technique, and an analysis of the hermeneutical type. Finally, the results show a contrast by gender in the conformation of work trajectories and identities, derived from objective and subjective aspects, which intervene when deploying agencies, and experience work and family and affective life.Downloads
