Abstract

The academic relevance of Permaculture - as a model of transition beyond sustainability - does not lie solely in design techniques and practices. The study of world views and popular movements sustains lines of research on social aspects, especially those related to the construction of senses on the reality in which one lives and acts.

The interest of this work lies in the study, based on written material and practical experiences, of Permaculture as an alternative agri-food movement, starting from the imaginary significances that are constructed in its daily activities and political actions, with the objective of making a cartography that allows to understand its position regarding alternative agrifood movements (AAMs) and agro-industrial hegemony.
